Safety and Security Office
In support of the educational mission, the Security Department works in partnership with the community to proactively reduce risks to safety, respond to threats/challenges to security, enhance and maintain an environment conducive to study and growth while acknowledging the dignity of each person utilizing facilities, services, and programs at St. Ambrose University.
It is the department's philosophy that all Security Personnel should provide the highest quality of security services to all members and guests of the campus community. Each member should display only the highest standards of professionalism, conduct, and leadership while performing their assigned tasks. Every employee should work to resolve issues at the lowest level, and constantly strive to de-escalate every situation requiring our response.
Parking on Campus Parking Permits
Security Escorts
Students should walk in pairs, but when that's not possible you can arrange a free, walking escort on main campus, available 24/7 at 333-6104. The LiveSafe app also offers a virtual Walk With Me (shares your location with friend(s) and notifies them of your arrival).
LiveSafe
Stay safe and informed with the LiveSafe app. Virtually escort your friends in real-time on a map, place emergency calls, and access safety resources.
Crime Log and Clery Report
In accordance with federal regulations, a crime log is available for review by anyone.
Additionally, SAU complies with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act by making Clery report and statistics information available to students, faculty and staff
The Security Department is staffed and personnel are available to assist anyone on campus 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The department consists of non-sworn professionals, PerMar contract service officers, and student employees, who provide campus patrols and respond to emergencies and requests for assistance.
These efforts are supplemented with the use of state certified officers from the Davenport Police Department and Scott County Sheriff's Department. These sworn officers are used during key times and special events. This allows a sworn officer to be present and reduces the response time should response be necessary. It also simplifies the process of reporting crimes for members of the campus community.
